ABOUT
HUNTER
Hunter is a first generation Cuban-American born and raised in Miami, Florida where he trained at the Miami Youth Ballet. He continued his studies in Dance, receiving a scholarship to complete a B.F.A. in Dance Performance from Mercyhurst University during which he appeared in leading roles with Lake Erie Ballet, Mercyhurst Ballet Theatre, and Ballet Concerto. Hunter then joined Verb Ballets (now Ohio Contemporary Ballet) for three seasons as a company member, performing works by Tommie Waheed-Evans, Christopher Huggins, Stephanie Martinez, Josua Peugh and Heinz Poll. He also toured with the company to Cuba where he performed as Benvolio in Romeo and Juliet under the direction of ballet icon Laura Alonso. After that, he joined Norwegian Cruise Line as a featured dancer, completing three contracts with them before returning to Miami to join DanceNow Miami as a company member under the direction of Hannah Baumgarten and Diego Salterini as well as completing a comprehensive certification in Pilates.
